Davemeister considered it a real travesty to be beaten by his archrival at Findlay, and so only 8 days later he came back with an even simpler plan that would catapult him into triathlon heaven – if only for a few days. He managed to trick Zachattack into swimming a few hundred extra meters, then hammered on the bike as if the nihilists were after him, and finished with a solid run that got him a free trip to the oxygen tent. As you can tell by looking at the pictures in our photo gallery, Zachattack clearly did not bite down hard enough to reverse the outcome of this horrible day for him, and the score was now 1:1. Two weeks later at the Firecracker Triathlon in St. Joseph, MI, the race was on again. Coach Horstinator likes to think that his pre race preparation session and hanging out with Zachattack instead of Davemeister was instrumental in getting a deadbeat that the square community didn’t give a flip about back on track. Zachattack decided that his opponent should be a pushover this time and went off into the 64 degree water like a maniac. On the bike he was passing people left AND right, which resulted in a 2 minute penalty, a mistake only a rookie triathlete would make (his coach is absolutely not to blame for this by the way). But even that did not stop him from arguably making the biggest comeback in sports history, and it was 2:1 for Zachattack. As for the other Team LLUA competitors, the Eliminator missed the podium only by a few seconds to finish 4th in her age group, and the Horstinator was disqualified for showing too much aggression in the (free) pizza tent. Also, a big thanks to the Little Achievers and their Achiever mom for cheering and showing up in their Team LLUA outfits (see pictures in our photo gallery).
