Findlay, June 14, 2008: The first showdown between LLUA teammates and archrivals Davemeister and Zachattack was anticipated with great excitement. Both had already gotten their feet wet at a few other local events – Davemeister took on the YMCA Indoor Triathlon and Zachattack did the YMCA Tri a Tri and the Racing for Recovery Triathlon – but this was the first time they would compete against each other. They are not rookies anymore and if asked “What do you do for recreation” these days, they would probably answer “Oh, the usual. I bowl. Drive around. The occasional sprint triathlon.” Davemeister had a great plan for the race. In fact it was freakin’ ingenious if I understand it correctly. It was a Swiss freakin’ watch. You see the beauty of this plan was in its simplicity: start out fast, ride fast in the middle, and finish fast. Besides that he adhered to a pretty strict drug regimen to keep his mind limber. Dudeist priest Zachattack was more concerned about another issue. He had told those boneheads down at the USAT office a thousand times that he doesn’t tri on Shabbos. But since that Kraut in charge of scheduling was threatening castration and because it was pretty much a matter of life or death, he did take off his dirty undies anyway and put on his sexy triathlon suit. In the end both of them did very well but Zachattack managed to keep the upper hand at the finish line. Nobody was surprised at Davemeister’s tears as we all know that strong men also cry. Congratulations dudes! 

As for the rest of the team, the Eliminator was a true achiever with a 5^th place overall and a win in her age group. The Horstinator was disqualified for showing too much aggression in the transition zone. See pictures in our photo gallery.
